Let Them Eat Panettone

A Classic Italian Holiday Cake—with a lovely twist. Bauducco Panettone comes from a Brazilian food company with Italian roots—Bauducco Foods. With high-quality ingredients like Sun-Maid raisins and Hershey’s Chocolate Chips in one variety—you will find the taste delightful. There is no mistaking this holiday cake for others you may have tried in the past. Bauducco Panettone is not dry but has a golden rounded taste that is just sweet and rich enough to let you know you are eating something special. Have it as it is or add ice cream or fruit or powdered sugar. It also makes delicious French Toast.

So does panettone get its name from the baker’s helper Toni in Northern Italy who accidentally knocked some raisins into a bowl of bread dough and continued adding more ingredients? His employer tasted it and named the scrumptious accident pane di Toni. We can’t say for sure but we do know Bauducco Panettone tastes divine. And what a thoughtful gift for a host or hostess.

The Taste of Home-Made

Here's a relative newcomer on the frozen dinners block--Michael Angelo frozen entrĂ©es. We tried the Vegetable Lasagna and the Eggplant Parmigianino and both were amazingly as good as what you would expect from an Italian restaurant—no exaggeration. There are quite a few other varieties—Four Cheese Lasagna, Chicken Piccata, Manicotti with Sauce, Cheese Ravioli and many more.
The company says they pick only the best vine-ripened tomatoes from the premium part of the season's crop, use the right, authentically crafted cheeses in each of their gourmet Italian meals, select premium cuts of meat and seafood and prepare them in-house and cook their meals from scratch every single day and ship to stores within 36 hours
Michael Angelo frozen entrees are available in several varieties and sizes-- individual or family sizes. You really can get the taste of a home-prepared Italian dinner from your freezer.

Scrumptious Stromboli

Stouffer’s has some new offerings and they are definitely noteworthy. The Italian Style Supreme Stromboli in their Corner Bistro line, for instance. Here is a microwave sandwich meal with real appeal. It is meaty with chunks of sausage and pepperoni --not measly thin slivers. Red and green pepper pieces and a piquant sauce make this just right. The bread is thick with an herb crust and the cheese inside—nice and gooey mozzarella. This is a very flavorful treat, sort of a high end Hot Pocket.
You'll find it in the frozen food section.
