Cooking Rice and More

Here is a little power house to help you cook rice and other foods perfectly and without you being a helicopter cook---hovering to make sure everything is okay. Zojirushi’s Rice Cooker and Warmer has settings for  white rice, brown rice, semibrown rice, mixed, sushi rice, porridge. (Detailed instructions help walk you through what setting to use for what.)
The cooker  features advanced Neuro Fuzzy® logic technology, which allows the rice cooker to 'think' for itself and make fine adjustments to temperature and heating times to cook perfect rice every time. The spherical inner cooking pan and heating system allows the heat to distribute evenly and cook rice the way you want it.  Other features include automatic keep warm, extra large LCD display, clock and timer function, detachable inner lid and stay cool side handles.

It plays one charming melody  when the cooking has started and another when cooking is done. (You can change it to the usual beep, if you prefer.)

Zojirushi also makes a fine bread machine (you can make homemade bread!). The new model is smaller and sits horizontally on the counter and has two bread kneading paddles. We know someone who has been using a Zojirushi bread machine that is more than ten years old and discontinued and it still makes a perfect loaf.

We love short cuts that will give us the full results we want.

  1. While I usually cook 10 minute success rice, the bread machine sounds enticing...

  2. This actually sounds pretty good. I would consider buying something like this, as long as it can cook more than one type of food and doesn't take up too much space.

  4. I never knew much about rice cookers. An interesting idea. Thanks. My mom used a bread machine and I remember having the most delicious breads! Didn't take that much work, either.
