Cream of Hot Breakfast Cereals

For a hot cereal the is quick and never before available in a microwaveable single serve —try Cream of Wheat Instant Healthy Grain individual serve packets. There are two varieties—Plain and Maple Brown Sugar

Add either water or milk or soymilk, stir, microwave then stir more and enjoy a satisfying and filling breakfast. Add whatever you like—preserves, fresh fruit, dried fruit, syrup—butter and salt—your choice. Even if the afternoon temperatures start fooling everyone and hit the occasional 80 or 90—mornings are still cool enough to have a hot cereal, especially one that is nutritious and filling.
This cereal is an excellent source of fiber, calcium, Iron, Folic Acid and Vitamin with no cholesterol.

The only thing is—the Serving size is almost too generous! The one- serving pack can easily make enough cereal for two. And neither of you will be hungry until lunch time.

This is an interesting company that got its start during an earlier difficult economic era. Cream of Wheat had humble and brave beginnings as a “breakfast porridge” which was “invented” by the head miller of a small mill that was having a very tough time of it selling flour during the Panic of 1893 . The “porridge” was that part of the wheat taken from the first break rolls of the flour mill. Referred to as “the top of the stream,” this is the source of flour of the highest grade and it was named “Cream of Wheat.” The funds of the milling company were at one point so low that one of the owners had to cut the cardboard for the cartons by hand, label the packages himself, and crate them in wooden boxes made up from waste lumber.
Within twelve hours after the arrival of the first shipment of “Cream of Wheat” in New York, a telegram was received saying…”Never mind shipping us any more of your flour, but send a carload of “Cream of Wheat.”

The rest is history and now you can have Cream of Wheat in several flavors.
